2006—Growing, Growing, Grown...
2006 defined The Oscar Litwak Foundation as a growing organization. The donation of Mobile Playrooms doubled to 14 from 2005 and so did the number of children benefited by the program. We developed key relationships with hospitals, donors and corporations that will help the Foundation continue its growth and ability to positively impact the lives of hospitalized children. In particular, we are honored and proud to have partnered with MD Moms, who will support the Foundation’s efforts for the next three years. 2005—The Year in Review
All the hard work, all the long meetings, all the planning and preparation have truly paid-off. 2005 was an extremely successful year for the Foundation in all accounts, with the delivery of 7 Mobile Playroom Units that have benefited hundreds of kids. The Mobile Playroom...It’s Rolling!
Patients at Kaiser Permanente of Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles are already enjoying the benefits of this innovative program. The units were presented on Feb. 25 and March 17, 2005 respectively in a pair of magical dedication ceremonies full of excitement and anticipation. First Oscar Litwak Playroom Opened Mexico City, Mexico
It is with great pride and excitement we announce the opening of the first Oscar Litwak Playroom in the Centro Medico ABC (The American British Cowdray Medical Center) in Mexico City.
The playroom was inaugurated on October 5, 2004 with an emotionally-charged event attended by more than 250 people.

Our First Project !
Through the kind generosity of our donors, The Oscar Litwak Foundation was able to collect almost 50 new toys & games for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (December 16, 2003).
The donated items, which include board games, video cassettes and DVDs, books, plush toys and arts & crafts, were distributed among the different playrooms in the hospital and are now used and enjoyed by its patients.
Our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Wendi Kellaris, Manager of Volunteer Resources at CHLA for her unconditional help and assistance.
Although this was a great start, we realize and understand that there are still many hospitalized children that have limited or no access at all to playrooms. Therefore the Oscar Litwak Foundation continues to strive to create a place where the patient’s emotional health is being tended to through play, laughter, and love. |
